More than just a brand, GUTS is a growing community built on connection, empowerment, and shared experience. Carmen and Jenson recognize that today’s female athletes don’t just want a place to compete—they want a space where they’re seen, heard, and supported.
Through everything they create—from apparel to resources—they’re driven by one goal: to make sure girls in sports know they belong and that they matter. For GUTS, this isn’t about keeping up. It’s about leading. Because the future of sports includes strong, confident, united women, and they’re here for all of it.

"Basketball was my passion, but my career was shaped just as much by the injuries and adversity I faced as by the wins on the court. Through it all, I learned that having GUTS doesn’t take skill; it takes dedication, courage, and the drive to keep going when things get hard. That’s what GUTS is all about: uniting girls through sports, reminding them that true strength is found in showing up with heart and faith, and building a positive community where we uplift one another."

"I’m grateful I grew up playing sports, because the lessons and relationships I gained will last a lifetime. Seasons and careers eventually end, but the community, support, and belief in one another stay with you. Whether you’re a current or former athlete, sports still have a way of connecting us. That’s what GUTS is all about to me! Showing girls that sports aren’t just about the game, they’re about the friendships and community that last long after the season is over."

The story
GUTS began in 2012 around the Edwards’ family kitchen table in Wilmington, NC.
Jenson’s dad noticed how little recognition and connection there was for girls in sports, and from that, the idea for Girls United Thru Sports was born. His goal was to create something
just for female athletes, a brand and a community that made them feel like they had something special, something of their own.
Jenson and Carmen grew up as best friends, completely surrounded by sports.
Their childhoods were filled with early mornings, packed weekends, and the kind of friendships only teammates understand. GUTS played a huge role in their sports journey and gave them a sense of community that carried them through middleand high school. But as Jenson and her sister were deep into their athletic careers, her dad had to put GUTS on pause.
After college, Jenson brought up the idea of relaunching GUTS, more than ten years after it all began. Carmen said yes without hesitation. Now, as co-founders, they’re bringing the heart of GUTS back to life, making sure every girl has what they had: a strong sports community, a place to belong, and the confidence to chase big dreams.
